Right now i dont have too much money for a nice desktop amp but then i will buy one!!! Which closed headphone do you recommend me? money is not a problem! just to get a perfect sound!
Right now im using the quietcomfort 3 from bose! it has a nice sound!

for closed headphone i would say SRH840... would be my 1st choice.
agreed with all previous posts i think it s would be very hard for a portable amp to push HD650 to perfection, but the RSA ones such as Predator or 71A (maybe even the small mustang?) with 3 gain switches can drive them to a pretty satisfactory level i ve heard.
if you d be listening to you r hd650 at home or somewhere in-door its still definitely the best choice, but it would be nice for you to discover its full potential by buying a full size amp once you r settled.

between the shure SRH840 and Ultrasone HFI 2400 headphones i have read different comments, and many people think differently. Which of these are good for electronic music (house) or apart from those which are best suited for this type of music??? talking about portable headphones???

sry i ve never personally heard a pair of Ultrasone HFI 2400 before, but i think SRH840 is very hard to be beaten among the close headphones, not only in its price range but all other expensive ones.. (and on amazon Ultrasone HFI 2400 is almost 2 times of SRH840's price). but that s really just my opinion :P

Are you sure you want to stand by that statement? What are these other expensive headphones that you think the SRH840 is better than? What is your experience with these better headphones? Is it superior technical performance or a preferred sound signature?

Hi Ypoknons,
I have heard ESW-9, which is more expensive in price, but sounds too "far away" from you. I have heard HD 25-1 and some open cans like hd555 and 595, i ve say comparatively SRH840 is much more detailed, much more balanced, better instrument separation, just sometimes a slightly shiner. I dont think that s a pure sound signature thing that the sennhiser ones have rather muddy mid and lows and being lack of detail, but they do have a better soundstage i guess. I also heard of AKG K271 from my friend, i dont know if it requires an amp to shine but i really didnt notice any remarkable feature of it without an amp. I also own bose QC3 as a gift from my family member, and i guess the SQ of it is not needed to be mentioned.

so all the listed ones i believe are more expensive than srh840 if there is no discount. but i certainly didnt mean srh840 is the best closed can out there since there are so many much more expensive ones i havnt heard of. But it is one of those with the greatest value, and i think not all the advantage i mentioned above are purely a signature thing. again it is my personal opinion.
