VD probably went bankrupt because since Patrick a lot of people associated VD with an eccentric character in his boxer shorts and hello kitty paraphernalia - hardly state of the art.

I miss Patrick - I am not surprised that he is now happy with a girlfriend - great sense of humour, eccentric, spontaneous, innocent and mysterious - a player in my books.

YES indeed this forum is sadly lacking without people like him.

There will always be those that try and belittle legends.

I cannot divulge to much information I was not employed by Virtual Dynamics directly but made many of the brass and nylatron  components for Rick in Barrhead . And yes I remember the "judge" when it was a raw solid chunk of black acetate plastic I just cut in the bandsaw... with a smoke hanging out of my mouth infront of the CNC with a calculator making the program. It was a work of art and I was proud of it and the beautiful surface finish and perfect chamfers not to mention the inner working of the layers of steel between nylon shielding and light press of all these pieces to make it what it was. It was something to behold when I screwed the threads together joining the two halves and wiped the machining coolant residue off and had to see it go. Like many of the components whether they were IEC covers or BAM covers or brass clamps  as the work order said. Each piece was cnc made....not injected into a mold. Although I feel ( ok..know based on my time spent on each piece) my employer probably gouged Rick on his cost to produce) people must realize quality that goes into work. As a machinist I see all the time people by some junk outsourced to a factory in India that they buy for $200 and bitch when they bring a piece in to get fixed and say " I could buy a new one for that price!" I have to bite my tounge...yes yes you can. Thanks for supporting local business and skilled trades people, now let your made in Bangladesh shoes walk you out the door....
