Earbuds for work: non-isolating, zero leak

I have been searching threads, but although I found a couple relating to full-size headphones, I didn't find one that quite picked up this point.

I work in a fairly quiet open plan office, where several of us use various sorts of earphones when we're trying to concentrate.

I have, and adore, a pair of UE triplefis, bought on that Amazon offer. I use them with Comply tips. I commute by tube for which a great seal, massive isolation and good sound quality is a great combination.

But this doesn't work at work; I need to be able to hear colleages when they come to my desk, or even call across the room. With the triplefis I can't even hear the phone ring. Plus I get up from my desk pretty regularly so I need something quick to put on and off. However, because it's a quiet office, I can't afford even a little leak.

I listen to acoustic vocal and instrumental music, mostly traditional (British) folk, with some electric folk and nu-folk. Volumes relatively low.

I could use full-size headphones, but they look a bit serious and intimidating; I'm one of the bosses so I need to be accessible. So earbuds rather than IEMs feel like the way forward.

I'm mostly listening to an 5g iPod nano or an iPhone; I would prefer not to use an amp.

Yuin PK2 looks like a likely option, but only appears to be available in the UK via eBay (is there a fake risk?). But I'm interested in others. Money not the primary concern, though, you know, within reason.

Many thanks!

Sound quality is not the best (not horrible either) but Bose In Ears are pretty comfortable, easy to put in and take out and are an open design that are good for being able to hear people around. The biggest weakness is lack of treble and not detail oriented but they are not bad for folk music in my experience, I also like them for New Age music.

just get the pk2's and get them from head-direct; they ship internationally and won't be any risk of fakes.

have you considered buying a Shure PTH unit? (altho you'll likely still have trouble noticing a phone ringing)

Thank you all; I've just received my PK2s (Head-Direct were, as you said, completely efficient). My early impressions are good.

Just for the record

Next time you may want to try JVC FX500, sorrry for the late reply.
