game 2 is about to start in 20 minutes!  Hopefully there will be some better defense but at the same time great action too.  :)

Well over half way through the 2nd period and no score. Looks like you got your wish ak622.

And in less than a minute it's 2-0 Che-cog-gee.

wow, Patrick Sharpe hit the post with the empty net...  Philly with big pressure right now.   Hawks held on to win..  good game!

Yeah, it was a good game.  Philly's game isn't slow it down; I don't know why they tried it the first period.  They score on mayhem.   Congrats again to bhawks for playing the better game.

How was that shot with about 4 minutes left in the game not a goal?

They showed the replay... they knocked it at the goalie, bounced off his knee-pads, recovered the rebound, and then hit the puck in. You can see the puck get inside of the net during the replay. You can't ever see the goalie with control of the puck, just see it bouncing around in front of the net then getting into the net within a couple of seconds. The announcers said that the whistle hadn't been blow, and by the time the play stopped and everyone began to get up, the puck was sitting in the back of the net.

This is just like that pitch that Lidge threw to Damon with a two strikes and two outs in the top of the 9th during a tied game, where Damon swung and missed and Ruiz grabbed the ball without it hitting the dirt, but it was called a foul and not a strike or an out. If you swing and don't hit it, it is a strike. If you swing and hit it, and the other team catches it before it hits the ground, it's an out. Either way, it would have ended the inning, but for some reason it was counted as neither.

It's in the books; I imagine there was a whistle in there we didn't hear.

Yes! !!!!!! Another good game!  I do believe Philly's getting away with some cheap shots on the B-Hawks players.......JMO.....Taylor, I'm pretty sure the whistle was blown on that goal you were talkin' about!!!!   Agree Pepsi ... !!

ehh, I saw some cheap shots the other way too that weren't noticed; it's just part of the game.

I'll Agree with that!  You're also "spot on" with Playin' slow isn't Philly's game.....Just look back last night when they scored, it was total mayhem goin' on......Game 3 they'll have the crowd with them BIG TIME!!

Philly didn't get there by lottery. They earned it so lets see what they can bring at home. I just don't see Hawk's goal tending taking a dive.

I went to my parent's house for dinner last night and we watched the Hawks game.. She doesn't understand hockey but she was shouting and stuff.. she said "Wow, this is really heart-pounding!"

And having the last line substitution always helps.   I was happy to see them win a few more faceoffs in game 2.  Get the power play clicking and they can turn it around.

intoflatlines--got to give her credit for that--a lot of people can't even follow the puck.  Probably why Fox did that inane glow puck years back.  happy thoughts happy thoughts.
