Same performance - one is just in a competitively priced box set with the other symphonies. Vanska's whole cycle is the one to go for - it is a modern classic, head and shoulders above Jarvi, and maybe a head above Mackerras.

I'm thinking about picking up a Vanska boxset but there are two versions on Amazon UK, one costs only £25.99

The other costs more than twice as much

The second one is labeled as SACD while the first one is not. But there's a SACD logo on the first one's cover photo, so I'm a bit confused as the difference between those two editions. Does anyone know if BIS has released a non-SACD version of the boxset?

They look to be the same and I would get the cheaper one. It's not unheard of for Amazon to have multiple listings of the same product at different prices. My Anima Eterna version of the Beethoven symphony set was the same; one was listed at over a hundred dollars, while the one I bought was listed at around $25 dollars (same Amazon.Com site).

Thanks Lex. My boxset's on its way now.
