Sennheiser PC350 with ASUS Xonar Xense, worth buying?

Anyone knows the news that Sennheiser will launch its PC350 headset with ASUS Xonar Xense (is it a new series?) sound card? Because I want to get a Sennheiser PC350 for playing my favorite FPS games and its price on Amazon is around $150, I’m eager to know what the price of this bundle is and how much I can save.

BTW, could anyone describe the difference between on-board sound card and independent audio card? Until now I use my on-board sound card but recently consider switching to a better audio card. Is ASUS Xonar card great? Please give me some advices. Thank you.

There was never any official information to suggest the Xense would be bundled with the PC350's. They were shown in a picture so many people assumed they would be the ones to come in the bundle. There is another set, a smaller set that looks like PC151's headphones. This set featured an ASUS logo on the side and I think these are the cans to be bundled with the Xense when released.

I would wait and see which cans they bundle with the card and take it from there.

I really really disliked the sound quality of the PC350, enough to prefer the PC151 over it.

If you can, give the cans a listen before you buy. There are good alternatives to the PC series headsets for positional audio.

ha ha ha how amusing, precisely the PC350 is often claimed to be a piece of $#|^ ... A quick search on this forum shows it without a doubt!

maybe they want to flush the stocks

different layout btw: http://resources.vr-zone.com//upload...nic/8753/4.jpg

only 2 opamps this time...are they used as LPF? no more I/V? PCM1796 only does 8X oversampling.

I seriously doubt you will see those cans bundled with that card.
It seems people are making a very big assumption based on a picture. In fact there are about 3 pictures showing the Xense with different headphones.
I would still suggest they will be bundled with a more price concious set similar to the PC151's. Which the card has also been pictured with...

maybe they won't fail big time on the drivers side once more...I kinda doubt it, though

From all we know they could use another model of sens with the card. But it best to wait til some one get one to review or til we get more info.

Thanks for your sharing, however, most news flash about the bundle of Xonar Xense and Sennheiser I found out point out it is the PC350 that Xonar Xense will combine with. Here are some:
ASUS Xonar Xense Gaming Soundcard Looks Promising - Industry News - Overclockers Club
CeBIT 2010: Asus intros new Xonar Xense soundcard | TechFever Network | The Hot Tech News and Gadget Network
Asus Xonar Xense Headset

But I did also find some posts consistent with your opinions:

Alright, no matter what will be the final set, should I expect PC151 is better than PC350 in sound quality? Or it depends on which rig it works with?

Yes but most of the information is a guess based on a picture.
Anyway, I guess we will wait and see.

My buddy owns a pair of PC350s, and they were TERRIBLE compared to my PC151. I'd recommend you look into other headsets, or headphones and boom mic. There is a set often recommended... AD700, I think. Great positional audio.

Well whatever cans they come with, hopefully they will sell just the card also for those interested in using their own cans.

I own the Essense STX and PC350, the Essense is a great sounding headphone amp/sound card but the pc350 are not impressive at all pretty underwheming to be frank.

Now the HD650 and the Essense combo is extremely impressive and thats what I use to game and listen to music the PC350 collect dust...anyone want to buy them

Ha~~~I assume Sennheiser PC350 is a good can by: Sennheiser PC 350 Reviews

But it seems that some like it but others have opposite opinions. Whatever, maybe Xonar Xense and Sennheiser PC350 (assume they bundled) are both made to each other, which might make this bundle awesome....Haha...just my own opinion....wait to see

Wowwwwwwww. The PC350s are REALLY some of the worst headphones I've ever used, so I can't believe they'd get such a high rating. Someone needs to introduce these guys to alternatives, and apparently their minds will explode.

Edit: Lulz, they rated Skullcandy Skullcrushers higher than most Sennheiser headphones, and even a pair of SRH840s. I'm done here.
