Hello i am thinking about buying a pair of Live Wire trips, and am wondering what kind of MP3 player i should get, i currently have an ipod shuffle but hate it there is no screen and no eq. Please suggest any to me thanks, also on a tight budget.

I second the Ipod touch. The quality will also be better because the mini amp in the shuffle is lacking compared to the ipod touch.

Unless it's the 1st gen iPod shuffle

Anyway, the I'll have to put another vote down for the iPod Touch.

In case you want to use eq (which some people might like), there are better options than iPod. How about Sansa Clip/Clip+ or Fuze. Or perhaps a Cowon player, like D2 or S9? Sony also has some good players...

I have been extremely pleased with my rockboxed Sansa Clip+, especially when used with an external amp. It shows off detail within music which even home rigs struggle with.

The Clip+ sounds better than the touch and it is much cheaper as well. If you're on a budget, get the 8GB Clip+ and save up for a 32GB MicroSD card. Enjoy a tiny MP3 player that plays FLAC straight out of the box and that has excellent sound quality.

is an ipod touch really the player to recommend to someone on a "tight budget"?

as above, i'd recommend a sansa clip+.

Just a question on this: where can I find a 32GB MicroSD card? I've looked on Amazon and the max capacity I can find is 16GB.

sandisk sell them direct from their website. but as they have only just been released and there is no competition from other manufacturers, i'd avoid them for now - they are hideously over priced. here in the UK, they cost around 4 times as much as a 16gb card.

Clip+ is a good player. A little thin sounding compared to the T51 but IMO it can't be beaten for sound quality for its size and price.
