I have been following the thread, http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f9/mos...-heard-474921/ and I have been inspired to make an addendum thread about painting. "Depressive", can be a tricky word here. There is a fine line between, "depressive", "melancholy", and "horrifying". I find Francis Bacon is often horrifying but not depressive. It took some soul searching to get the painting below. Also, I find Mark Rothko is often melancholy and not depressing. The painting below by Rothko is at MOCA in Los Angeles. I have seen it many times and I fluctuate between feeling that it is depressing, melancholy, and even spiritual. The one thing both of these paintings have in common is that they are both masterpieces. So whatever you think "depressive" is, please post photos of your most depressive "paintings" here.
