Tyll; All I can really say is thanks!

As you guys can imagine, working for Tyll for 10+ years is quite an amazing experience. He has taught me so very much about not just great sound, loving headphones and making great products; but of course also business, marketing, and life in general, really. I feel SO SO lucky to have had the opportunity to work and learn from someone who is truly a brilliant visionary; with a little mad scientist thrown in there, too.

As for HeadRoom, please remember that many of us here have learned a TON from Tyll; and I keep these things in mind every day as I market for HeadRoom. Now we have Travis here to lead us through the next chapter. We understand how important the community and the hobby really is -- you guys are what it's really all about. So, thanks to all of you as well. Just reading this thread means a lot to HeadRoom employees, and I think we feel fortunate to have been a part of it all.

Tyll... man, thanks! It's been a lot of fun. A LOT! You have certainly helped shape me into the person I am today, and for the better I hope. Even though the road's been a little rocky at times, I wouldn't walk any other. And I have no doubts that you will continue to create, innovate, inspire, and amaze! CHEERS!!

Oh yeah... and the photos -- I don't even feel sorry for you guys. You didn't see the ones that didn't make it to print, and you didn't have to process the rolls from the shoot!

Let's just be happy Tyll's actively pursuing a professional headphone geek career rather than a modeling career, eh?

Thanks Tyll and HeadRoom for all my current head-fi enjoyment. I've learnt so much through HeadRoom and I'm hooked on their gear.

Now that Tyll has surprisingly parted company with HeadRoom on a full-time basis, I do wish both Tyll and HeadRoom all the best. I'll remain a strong supporter of both.

We can encourage it in others, but they must find it themselves.
Well done, Tyll. I think we've all been in a position where someone asked us about headphones, audio, music, cables...whatever. And we responded with so much enthusiasm that they maybe took a step back. Or, worse, didn't take our advice at all and bought what they wanted in the first place. There are a thousand reasons why. In the end, the encouragement of pursuing a musical adventure is the best we can do. Personally, I'm a bit more cautious than I used to be, but I kind of give them a task to see if they are "in it" or just shopping. It's pretty easy to tell!

Anyway, keep the fire burnin, Tyll. I've met you a few times and found you to be truly geniune and passionate about music, audio, and headphones. We're glad you're on our side! Cheers!

Most everything has been said by everyone else.

I too started headphone audiophile-ness with a Headroom Desktop DAC/AMP (basic modules, step attenuator) and the HD650 from them as well a few years ago. Based on learnings from HeadFi. Been a journey since, and still loving it.

All things do change, and all things come to an end. I am sure there was angst during the process, but both parties appear to be not just amicable, but happy. I wish both Tyll and Headroom the best of luck, and await to see the fruit of their current labor.

Headroom without Ty....just doesn't seem right.

Seems strange that the company you created could eventually let you go, but I guess that's the way business can work now.

Good luck on your new thing, and hope you see you in Chi town this summer.

Best of luck Tyll, seems weird for you not to be part of HeadRoom.

It's strange, but happens a lot more often than you might think. In audio alone, several comes to mind immediately -- e.g., Mark Levinson, Bob Carver, David Hafler -- and in each of these cases the company continued to bear the founder's name.

Anyway, Tyll, the headphone measurement lab sounds like a great start to your continued journey. Looking forward to it!

Best of luck Tyll. Your advice has been valuable to me and your time at the Atlanta event was very much appreciated.

I cannot wait to see what comes next!
