Any experience with ADuM4160 usb isolator ?

Hi,

I am looking at trying to improve the performance of the y1, y2 and Teralink X2 and one thing I keep coming back to is the noisy USB.

I've been looking at this device :

ADUM4160 | Full/Low Speed USB Digital Isolator | Digital Isolators | Interface | Analog Devices

and a module for sale here :

Ultravox - SGD60.00 : Welcome to the diyparadise e-store!

and I wonder if anyone has any experience about how well this chip works, and if so, what kind of difference it makes ?

Thanks !

I've built one of this guy's kits. No idea what it does for audio, but it works fine for my non-audio-related purposes:

Cool ! He sells a kit for US$25 but it uses a buck dc-dc converter - like the AD evm - isn't that noisy too ? It might not be suitable for audio.

Pads are provided to wire an external +5V supply if you don't want to use the onboard one.

Ive been trying to figure out a way to isolate the USB ground, since it need this to detect a signal its kind of dififcult, I was wondering if I put a resistor across the 5v wire and ground if this would trick the computer into detecting a device, so only the data cables go to my device which I can then power with a battery? maybe its a dumb question though.
