I'm going to wait a couple years at least, right now it's too much of a prototype and no multitasking kills it for me personally. I can see a device like this being used for many daily activities it's just way too early in the design stage for it to be useful. Take the idea of including a high resolution camera; you could hold up the large screen and frame your shot like no other camera out there, perhaps by then post-processing on the fly with your favorite filters etc.

Also notice how the older TVs were all round, when these gizmos go square that's when it starts to get real!

I was playing with the iPad at Best Buy today, the only thing that managed to impress me was the screen. The rest of the unit wasn't really that impressive. Granted this is only the very first generation, time will tell if the apps developed for the iPad will help it realize its potential.

I do not, for several reasons.
1) Apple did not bother release it worldwide - US only.
2) Not 100% I want one. Need to see in person first.
3) More interested in the iPad 3G.

No.
Gonna wait at least a year before i consider it.Only time will tell if it becomes the new benchmark.And even if it is the next best thing, Apples competitors will surely respond with products that improve on what the Ipad doesn't do well, and at an aggressive price point.Unless you must have it now, you have nothing to lose by playing it cool and just waiting.

It is interesting, but I'm not that interested either (especially with Apple's usual high prices for the UK).
What I am hoping is that the other computer manufacturers are (obviously) looking very hard at what Apple has put out (first) and will then bring out their own better & cheaper tablets.

Typing on my iPad at the Jetblue terminal at jfk while I watch old episodes of dollhouse on netflix. Great travel companion.
