JVC/Victor FX700 - The Successor (early Easter Bunny brought something very nice!) - Page 105

well, for the mean time it'll be just the fx700 as well and upon owning them since last Sunday, i've started to be attached to their sound sig. but of course on a bass reducer EQ on ipod classic..

i must say they're very good rounders and it never came short on which ever genre i throw to them and listening again to my library feels like discovering something new on every song ksc75smile.gif

now i find the bass slam perfect for my taste and the overall presentation

What tips give the deepest insertion without obstructing the nozzle or otherwise altering the sound quality?

Triple flanges (such as meelec/Monster) for the deepest insertion possible, and an even more prominent bass response.

Never been a fan of multi-flanges. Are there any single flange options?

According to |joker|'s FX700 review, his preferred tips are the UE single flanges.

I use the V-moda large single flanges I bought from amazon. They were like .01 cent but the shipping was like $4.00 lol. Got 3 pairs of them and they work great.

whats the best double flange for the fx700 that is easily obtainable? i used the double with the ie8s and liked them.  iwas using the foam stock ones on the fx700 until today when i popped on the single flange. not sure the single does it for me.

Do you still have any of those double flanges from the IE8? Those do work on the FX700 as well. I just never found them to give me a good seal. I generally have better luck with the large single flanges. Unless I use the double flange with a large single flange over it lol (nice seal with that).

Well I can give you links to the tips that work great for me. They are from amazon and worked great for me with IE7, IE8, and FX700. JVC and V-Moda large single flange tips. They come in sets of 3 (V-Moda has a set of 5). So 6 tips in each set. The JVCs are a bit more thick so that can especially help with seal and the material feels a bit different.

those tips are what i was talking about, just to be sure or maybe it's not medium tips.

it adds soundstage and i notice that the details are presented more audible that the highs are well extended unlike the big stock tips of the jvc where it sounds really aggressive and an in-your face highs but decays quicker

For my huge ear canals, I couldn't get a fit with ANY silicon tips (even large ones). Comply foams Ts400 gave me great comfort and a good fit (but still no isolation, these FX700 are definitely for quiet environment):

FX700 with Ts400 foams

By the way, Ts foams are shorter than T series, so no sound muffling. wink.gif

nice little packaging, took me a sec to find the extra eartips

before I go forcing anything on, monster supertips work on them?? that would be great...

the sound is MASSIVE, literally got them 5 min ago, might need a few before i post some impressions

Very much so, my friend. Both hybrid and gel SuperTips work just fine. Happy listening! smile.gif
