I was hoping I could receive feedback on the following.

1. Most Powerful Headphone Out DAP (General).
2. Most Powerful Headphone Out DAP (Portable - ideal for the gym).
3. Most Powerful Headphone Out iPod Nano.

Appreciate the feedback. Do you have actual output figures available? Further, do you have lists of top 3 for each above?

u mean spec for power output?? dont believe spec, as you know sansa is rated with 60mW but the power is much smaller than Cowon D2 that rated 30+ mW
you need to try it yourself or make a testing like dfkt did

Sony D50. You get it really loud on 3 or 4, I can not even imagine it to play on 8 or 10. Dony M10 seem to have powerful phone out too.

D50 and M10 are recorder, i dont know if he is interesting with recorder

back to topic, sansa clip+ w/fiio e5 both very portable and has a clip. very ideal for gym. I cant see myself running on the treadmill with Hifiman 801.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I am always appreciative of feedback, but let's try and not go astray. My concern is power output from DAPs' headphone out.

Agree, my sansa clip+ sometimes have a hard time driving even my low impedance sa6 when playing soft classical pieces..
