Multiple colors with a price of 350 bucks. Just read that and though I'd give you guys the info if it wasn't already posted. Oh and the 16/32 gb models are reduced by 20 bucks at that time as well.

Good to know! The only problem now is to rearrange my want list to fit this, without breaking the (already partially broken) bank!

To bad it has no custom EQ, the ZuneHD needs a little extra bass and a little extra in the mid range that the EQ presets don't help with. Good they are bumping capacity though 32Gb was way to small for everything it can do.

Hey swanlee, do you have any idea as to why the Zune doesn't have an equalizer?
I know exactly why, as there's a MS employee that told us on ABI that it wasn't considered an important feature, since a poll stated that most don't really care about it.

This was a poll conducted by MS themselves, and it was a limited amount of people polled - lame really.

Just checked out the newest Zune video podcast and they revealed 4.5 will have XVID support. Big yay! Dunno if this is really news or not, but it's the first I've heard about it.

Now, to decide what to get on my original???

Anytime MS has been cornered about why they have no custom EQ they always talk about how it will confuse people etc. They were saying the same thing about the Zune80 and Zune120 not having any EQ presets.

Part of the reason I have moved onto the SFLO:2 I loved the Zune's but the whole lack of custom EQ thing was really getting old and the fact it took a huge fight just to get them to bring back the EQ presets told me they are a little lazy with user customizable features.

I agree. I had an original zune a long time ago but I sold it when I got the 1G Touch. Looking back on it then and now, I would never get a zune because I would probably hate not having an EQ. Currently I keep everything pretty much flac using the UM3Xs but I tweak it a "bit".

I very much get the impression that MC are trying hard to sell the complete user friendly entertainment package, so I guess you have to just be aware of that and put up with the simplicity of it all. If I want to do some real critical listening I guess I'll just rockbox the clip+, otherwise I can live without the EQ

It's a shame they do this because the hardware on the ZuneHD's and even the older Zune's is very good and the SQ is excellent but is lacking in a few area's that a custom EQ would easily fix.

The ZuneHD really needs a bump in bass and in vocal freqs, as it is lacking in both.
