Portable Amp Help needed Please, Denon AH-D1001 & Sennheiser HD600

Hi guys and girls I really could use some help here, currently I have a pair of Denon AH-D1001 headphones but have just recently orderd a pair of Sennheiser HD600's following some reccommendations. I was wondering if anyone had these two cans and could tell me which they prefer. I am also looking for a portable amp at the moment and have read alot of glowing reviews regarding the little dot MKIII but for the life of me I can't find anywhere which distributes it in the UK. I checked the ebay shop of the guy who is supposed to supply them from the US but he has none for sale at the moment so any help in that area would be much appreciated. My DAP will be the Cowon D2 when it arrives next week, currently I am using my HTC hero with FLAC files. Thanks in advance for your help.

Little dot MK III is far away from being portable, dont you mean Mk I+, portable amp? Also feeding home amp from Cowon D2 is ridiculous.

And also almost no portable amp is able to drive HD600 to their full potencial.

Why does everyone say that the HD600 is gonna falter without some sort of high end amplifier? They are amazing headphones, but I'm sure you can get 90% of performance with a portable amplifier.

Sorry let me rephrase that, I won't be using the amp on the road, I will be using it with the cowon at home, I have some in ear jobbies when I am on the move. So my setup would be:

Headphones: Sennheiser HD600
AMP: Little Dot MKIII
DAP: Cowon D2

Would this system work? Would I hear the full potential of the headphones or even close without having a stationary home designated audio rig setup.

Also are the HD600's substantially better than the Denon AH-D1001's?

Cheers guys, your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I know nothing about the Little Dot MKIII. On the other hand, I've been using the Meier Corda Headsix (same as the XXS, little brother of the 3Move) with my new HD600 for the past week and I've been getting good results. The Headsix has been well reviewed on this board and I'm very happy with it.

the mkIII has been suggested a lot for the 580/600. the denon 1001 doesn't really need an amp at all. personally, i use a millet hybrid (w/emu 0404 usb) and i think my 580's sound great out of that system.

i don't know much about the cowon dap but i think that would be your limiting factor in terms of getting the best of your hd600. i'm assuming the cowon would be fed out of the HP out to the mkIII? again, i don't know how good the sound is from the HP out and if line out is even possible with your dap.
