Oooooooh very interested. If anybody can tell me whether it's a v1 or v2 I'd be really thankful! (as I currently have a 1gb v1 and would like an 8gb v1!).

The V2 is currently in the throws of a pretty new, but mostly stable rockbox release... I actually may go for that one, trade in my V2 Fuze which I hate with a passion - worst DAP I've used in a long time for its interface (worse maybe than AMP3 Pro), stupid click nipple, more hiss than I'd like, and slightly grainy midrange.

Rockbox or nothing Sansa. Script written Clip+ should be great.

@Miyazaki. there's no such thing as an 8gb v1. all 8gb clips are v2.

Thanks Marc. That makes me really sad I adore the v1s and was convinced that the 8gb v1 would become the player to buy and stick to. Looks like I'll have to buy a 4gb then.....

Not the Clp+ with the MicroSD slot...you can do almost as well on Amazon ($45)...and you takes your chances with refurbished stuff.

Would anyone happen to know if there are any sound differences between the 8gb v2 clip and previous v1 clips?? If there is no difference I do not mind having a v2... Because for where I am, getting a 4gb is not much different in terms of price to getting a 8gb one o_O;
