---> Edit/Total Reverse! <----

I've decided to keep the NuForce and sell my HeadRoom Total Airhead instead. It's awesome, works perfectly! Looks OK, little scuffed.

It also comes with the AC adapter they sell for it, which IMHO, is crap. Very noisy/whiny. But hey, I'm not charging the $20 we paid for it, it's included FREE!

Comes with amp, 6" cable, and AC adapter. That's it. No box/manual.

I can't accept any lower offers on this. Why?

Their Price:

$100 Amp + $6 Shipping + $16.95 AC Adapter + $5 Shipping = $127.95

My Price:

$75 Amp + $5 Shipping + FREE AC Adapter & Shipping = $80

So please ignore the original post below, which I've left for info purposes about the NuForce. Thanks!

Hi,

This is my NuForce Icon Mobile, Black version. I bought it new and used it two weeks. It is complete with box, manual and all parts it came from with the following exception: I took replaced the white/silver 6" cable that came with it with a black 6" cable from HeadRoom instead, that matches the whole setup while the other one totally stuck out.

The item is in perfect condition, nothing wrong with it at all cosmetically or otherwise apart from my fingerprints. I ship the next morning after you buy, from California, professionally packed and tracked.

Want it? It's your lucky day:

Amazon Price is $105 shipped, my price is $85 shipped, I eat the PayPal fees.

My PayPal address is my email address. Please also email me if you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them!

Did you not like the SQ?

SQ and Features of the NuForce Icon Mobile

The SQ of the NuForce is top notch, very high quality, and the NuForce has tons of other features that make it extremely useful. However, I also have the HR Total Airhead, and the CrossFeed feature is just hard to beat. But my real issue, is that I'm flat broke and in the hole after getting a D2000 and sending it off to Mark to mod. So I'm selling all my "extra" components and cans.

In all, the soundstage is definitely broader on the Airhead. However, be warned: the sound of the Airhead and NuForce are just nothing alike. They have totally, completely different sound signatures, and make the headphones sound totally different.

The NuForce just improves upon the sound you would get out of an MP3 player or computer. The Airhead, (gosh someone at HR is gonna kill me for this) definitely colors the sound of the headphone, IMHO. But I like it. Either that, or maybe it just gives it a quality amplification like I've not used to, having used low-end for so long. Either way, as I've said, the sound of the Airhead is just totally different than the NuForce, Nano, or a computer.

Here are the features of the NuForce that rock:

USB for running out of the USB of your computer to bypass the crappy internal, noisy soundcard. Even on my expensive iMac it makes a huge difference.

Rechargeable battery that lasts 13 hours with a 2 hour charge-up.

Very tiny, very slick looking device - smaller than an iPod, about 1/3 the size of the Airhead.

Dual headphone jacks, plus a jack for headphone/mic units for SKYPE, VOIP, etc.

HI/LO gain switch for using, say, an ER-4P (LO GAIN) vs a full size unit like a DT-990 (HI GAIN).

It's own volume knob, so you can bypass the iPod/MP3 player's, using a line out jack like the SendStation.

Now the SQ:

Compared to just my iPod Nano, the NuForce offers a slightly smoother sound and definite improvements to the soundstage. Now, compared to the USB running out of my iMac, there is no contest: the NuForce beats it hands down. Everything is WAY better.

As for sound signature, that's easy: those of you that are familiar with the bright, crisp but balanced sound that comes out of any Apple product already know what the NuForce sounds like. It just makes some slight adjustments, as I think the DAC is just slightly better quality than my Nano, for example. This, I assume, is due to it being a device entirely devoted to that job, whilst the Nano is also a 100 other things. In other words, it sounds like a slightly better quality iPod Nano.

Is the quality worth $100 ? Considering all that the NuForce does, I think $100 is a steal. I hate selling it, especially for less than new as it is brand new.

Hope that helps!
