Mainly because those industrial people & manufacturers had agreement to make this use this make that use that type of connectors so that consumers have to follow & buy. (just joking)
If consumer & broadcast/console level uses same type of BNC connection, what will happen to the RCA, S-Video Din 4, etc connectors?
