My headband is broken and I'm the third owner of the hd650. I'm in need of a replacement.

Call Sennheiser they can get you a headband replacement

This happened to me too. FYI, Sennheiser charges a ridiculous amount to replace the headband

We should make a club
I fell asleep with my headphones on, and when i woke up the headband had snapped.
Sennheiser didn't want to replace it under the warranty, but offered me a new headband for a price that was about half of what i paid for the entire set.
Since the plug for the cable already had a loose connection, i decided to buy a new set, this time AKG though
And i used to be quite the Sennheiser fan...

I know this isn't a place for discussions...

but I bought a pair of HD650s with a broken headband. I bought a used HD580 assembly and put it on my H650s. It's a lot better than the old 650 headband since you don't have that vicegrip action on your head. If you don't mind the look you can always try alt. Senn headbands as the assemblies might be found quicker and/or cheaper than the 650's.

x2 I have hd650 drivers in a hd580 headband it I think it works just as well as the hd650 headband.

Replacing the headband with another model like the hd580 headband is the best route to go.

I bought my hd650 on the f/s and it came with an hd600 headband. It looks kinda weird but gets the job done

How do you install an HD 600 headband on Sennheiser HD 650 headphones?

I can get this one to replace my broken hd650 headband: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ORIGINAL-DECORATIVE-OVAL-SENNHEISER-HD600-NEW-/110446554430?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19b720ad3e
