I find reading up on any music and band I'm listening to enhances the music considerably. I do have the same problem as the OP though, I found some high quality jazz and classical recordings that I just play repeatedly. It's awesome to hear every detail, including the keys being pressed on the sax, the players breathing and shifting in their seats and all that and, not to mention, the instruments sounding absolutely real and not digital at all.
