1. Which is the company that manufactures this product, is it Teclast or Nationite ?

3. What DAC does it use ?

4. Is its interface similar to the Cowon S9

5. How good is the build quality ?

6. Ok I have heard the SQ is top notch so I wont ask ?

7. Is this purely an MP3 player or phone as well, sorry not interested in a phone.

1. Teclast is the manufacturer of both T51 and s:flo2, they are the same player. T51 is intended only for China market. Nationite s:flo2 is rebranded T51 by mp4nation.net for international market.

2. Teclast is a Chinese own China company.

3. Dual WM8740.

4. Don't know.

5. Fairly good. Have been using it for a few months and have no problem at all.

6. Probably better than any big brand name of similar price.

7. It plays music, video and some picture. Not a phone.

Do do your own research sometime, most of these info are available in the forum.

Yea I don't know how they manage to make a well built player with such great sound quality for around 150 bucks. Amazing

Well the Chinese have been well known of produsing good quality products at low costs, not like the rest of the western world where there is a mark up on every darn thing that comes out.

Its a no wonder alot of companies are outsourcing their jobs to china.

That is absolutely true. I never really think about the huge markups that I pay on my devices (very relevant on Amazon when phones are less than half the price at the official site) but this player really puts that inter perspective.

Applaud the Telecast for implementing all these parts at such a low cost. The firmware is still horrible, SQ is brilliant, UI is a donkey's arse.

Regarding "The Western World" and China producing this amazing player, let's put this into perspective. I have family and friends who work in Venture Capital and high tech dealing with industrious and creative firms, and Asian manufacturers. Note that innovation and development takes creativity, capital inlay, time, and patience.

I will spare a larger debate, and just address some of the component in the T51.

-Wolfson is a Scottish Company, much, if not nearly all of their research and development inlay into the audio chip sets we revere was done outside of China.

-Touch resistive technology was invented by a university of Kentucky Professor in the 1970s in its rudimentary form. Silicon Valley, CA's Synaptics pioneered the more modern touch/human capacitive interface used in phones/mp3 players.

-Flash Memory was invented by Fujio Masuoka @ Toshiba.

-It would take a while to go through the list of contribution, but that's just an example.

All of this knowledge, and enormous ability doesn't come free. If China had to innovate, and start designing more products absolutely from the ground up it would change the order of things. Some Chinese manufacturers complain already about thin profit margins, as country becomes more developed wage pressure will start to push on the myth of "cheap labor".
