I am putting for sale the Audio-gd DAC19mk3.
My unit came with 2 swappable digital modules:
1. The DF1704: a 24/96 digital filter
2. The PMD100: a 24/55 HDCD digital filter
It has 3 selectable inputs:
1. USB
2. Coaxial : I have both BNC and RCA inputs. BNC was a custom order.
3. Optical
The DAC19 MK3 is a superbly built DAC:
1. It uses top PCM1704 uk chips which is a true 24 bit R2R/multi-bit (non sigma-delta) dac chip. It is considered by many as the best DAC chip ever produced. Most $10,000+ DACs and CD players use the PCM1704 chip (Naim, Wadia, Mark Levinson, Esoteric...)
2. It is a full discrete design. There are no opamps or capacitors on the signal path.
3. It uses the ACSS current gain technology. All the processing/filtering after the DAC is done in the current mode which is a lot less harmful to the sound than voltage mode. Audio-gd ACSS technology is inspired from Krell which is the only manufacturer (besides Audio-gd) to use this technology as extensively in its designs.
4. It has a zero negative feedback output stage.
Overall, it is a wonderful sounding DAC (you can read my review here: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f7/rev...-19mk3-435669/) and I have decided to sell it to get the newer dac19dsp. I could have lived happily ever after with the dac19mk3, but I am curious to try the different filtering/oversampling settings of the DSP1 (offered in the new version) and compare the ACSS connections vs. my reference interconnects.
I have taken the stock plastic feet out and replaced them with Herbie’s audio Tenderfoot. I will sell them with the dac19mk3 (and order another set from Herbie’s Audio).
So, the selling price (excluding shipping) is x for the dac19mk3 (with BNC input)+PMD100+DF1704+Tenderfoot.
For shipping charges, you can ask me by PM.
Note: My dac19mk3 is a 220v-240v unit (it should work fine for the UK and European countries).
