The Nova is a great sounding DAC (ESS 9006 Sabre DAC) which I preferred over the highly regarded Electrocompaniet ECD1($2500) that I owned.
The Nova isn't only a DAC, it can also function as a Preamp, speaker amp, and has a Class A headphone out.
Features of the Nova:
5 digital inputs 1- USB, 2 coax, 2 optical
24/96 upsampling ESS9006 DAC
11 regulated power supplies
Organic capacitors
Class A output stage
Transformer coupled digital Inputs for ground isolation
Galvanically isolated USB stage.
>122db S/N
<1picosecond jitter measured at the Master Clock (Super Clock)
It received Stereophile's 2009 Product of the Year award. The Nova retails for over $1200 new.
Asking $960 shipped (It weighs 26lbs).
