Which player preferred by Audiophiles? - Page 3

T51/LO > Clip+

Albeit I have an ALO Rx and that costs a little more than most might want to spend, the sound quality I get is amazing and a lot better than anything I have ever had before.

I'm sorry but I find this comment particularly un-informal and gives me the impression you don't know what you are really talking about.

I'm not debating over the s:flo2's apparent SQ. Just the fact that DAC chips do not define the player, especially a hype filled dual DAC combo.

As far as the OP goes, I think the main players that "Audiophiles" are currently worshiping is the Clip+, s:flo2, arguably the new J3 and the HifiMan.

So which one audiophile preffer to get the better clarity and more detail..? J3 or S:flo2..? I know HFM-801 is the best one.. But don't have the money. Maybe just go for player under 500$.. But many people selling their S:flo2 to get a J3.. So Confusing, Is there any review between Cowon J3 and S:flo2..? If there is it will be helpful..

The only reason to sell an Sflo2 and get a J3 is for a more polished UI or they won't be using the Sflo LO and will be happier w/ the J3 HPO in a sleeker package.

I've tried really hard to like Cowon SQ, but their EQ (whether flat, or using presets, or customized) just doesn't work for me...

The best player that I have heard for sounding 'flat' is the Sony NW-HD5, makes the Sony NWZ-X1000 sound very mid-heavy / bloated, and the iPhone 3GS very shouty...

Trouble is, no matter what people recommend, as someone else I believe mentioned - without knowing the synergy that you would get with the IEMs / cans, you're never going to truly know from peoples recommendations how good something is...

x2

Not to mention variables such as ear canal shape, IEM fitting, hearing loss, desired SQ signatures, etc, etc....
