We turned off around 50 televisions, 30 laptops, 10 computers, 15 monitors, 15 receivers, 4 video game consoles, 15 DAPs, 3 cellphones, 3 air filters, 30 car decks, numerous major appliances and stopped charging our lifts at my store. I think we also turned off half of our sign leaving only the company name on.

Turned off my lights.

my flatscreens were still on, though . . . and the big one was on strictly because the blu-ray was taking forever to download a firmware update and has a bad habit of switching itself off whenever the tv gets switched off (which is a good habit when not downloading firmware, and i don't trust samsung to write their CEC/Anynet code so that it doesn't kick a firmware update in the family jewels.)

Unfortunately earth hour still wont make any difference because it only last for 1 hour and happens once a year. Why cant we do it everyday? sadly we are the main cause of the destruction of this world

I turned off anything that uses electricity in my house with the exception of my fridge, and I got a few other people to do it too. I think its an important reminder for people that even little things can make a difference for our environment!

Is that what it was. Things got dark for one hour the other night. I turned all my lights on and they all worked - Left them that way to illuminate the street as I started my car and drove around wondering what the hell is going on.
