Furutech GT40 USB DAC (24/96)/ headphone amp - Page 3

Thanks for the impressions Gary, I have been curious about this little unit. I have a better phono stage (PS Audio GCPH), but my ADC (Firestone USB I/O) doesn't upsample. I'm not sure if I need anything beyond redbook for ripping vinyl though.

This chunk usb only unit - if people actually bothered to read any reviews from across the hifi press spectrum and usually in the high end magazines - is pretty much lauded as the biggest bargain in hifi. I only used it as a dac and headamp as a tester against the reference graham slee solo ulde...not the phono or adc. It gave that reference headamp a hell of a run for its money. The difference was minimal. And hullo peeps? It's obvious the negatives on looks and build are from loonies who really know nothin about this component. Man, this is a Furutech product. High end.End of. But it's being replaced by the Mark 2 which has even higher specs. Its bigger brother is the new Esprit.
