If you do decide to get it, then there is a coaxial digital S/PDIF IN jack which will allow you to use the RAO 21 as a DAC. You can also buy the Extra Sources (XS) box which has a USB 2.0 Type B port along with a ton of analogue and digital inputs.

i can only tell about the broadcast cdp
for best detail but most harsh philips lhh 2000
just a bit less detail and less harsh studer d730
less detail and bit boring, but almost analog sound sony cds/p-3000, never heard digital sound can be that smooth. ideal machine for background music.

my choice, buy a TT for detail, which is better than the lhh-2000
for convenience of cd = using background music. the cdp-3000

Im looking to buy a source too, and this option sounds interesting (because I can use the DAC for a computer if I want). But, pardon me, but I dont know what is meant by a commercial/broadcast CD player. Is that like just a basic Sony or Panasonic CD player or something? What kind of output would be necessary to hook up to a good DAC? And what would be a good DAC anyway?
