Been using Rockbox since Friday on my Clip+ and I have yet to experience any major problems. Once I saved a custom cfg file, it's been peachy. Can't wait until Rockbox become better.

How do you save a cfg file without being able to write to flash? Did you edit it over USB Mass Storage?

Put your Clip+ in MSC usb mode. Connect. Create a text file. Type in your settings. Save as "fixed.cfg". Move it to your .rockbox folder. Safely eject your Clip+.

Enjoy your saved settings.

Any ideas on a final release version for the clip+?

With a 32GB microSD card, the clip+ will be a perfect replacement for my Cowon D2.

Rockbox on a Clip+ - AWESOME in a word !!

I want to say a big thank you to dfkt for his Minimum Clip Theme and the posting of his config file elsewhere (ABI), I've now been able to modify my Clip+ perfectly and get Rockbox running really, really well.

Rockbox Themes - DFKT Minimum Clip Theme

I'm one very happy Head-Fier that's for sure, I can't wait for the final release.

The Clip still isn't "stable" yet, so I don't think the Clip+ will be "stable" anytime real soon. I don't think stability is as much of an issue as the read-only problem is for right now. My Clip+ does freeze up fairly often, but I could live with that for now if the database worked.

BTW, recording is supported now, but it's still read-only, so recordings can't be saved. The Fuze v2 port is making some nice progress too.

Okay I've been running Rockbox all week on my Clip+ without any issues, updating through out the week, Yesterday I was running Version r25317; today I installed r25418 and nothing!

The dual boot screen loads then everything switches off, an error flashes up so quickly I haven't a hope in reading it, I then have to wait ten seconds and reboot into the Sansa OS to get the Clip+ back to life.

I've installed the original Sansa OS, re-formatted everything, then installed the Rockbox bootloader and .rockbox folder across this morning at least five times.

I'm doing nothing different to all the other occasions when I've managed to get Rockbox to run, to me it just appears that this revision (r25418) is broken in some way?

Is anyone else having an issue?

I am having the same problem.

EDIT: New version just out. Hopefully that solves the problem.

EDIT 2: Yup! The new version fixes the boot problem! YAY!

Well version r25422 fixes the boot problem right up until the point until you use a micro SD card. If you boot WITHOUT a micro SD card inserted then Rockbox will boot-up fine, the moment you insert a micro SD card Rockbox hangs at the start-up screen.

So one problem has been fixed, but it's still broken

I guess we'll have to wait for the next release.

Well, the clip+ stock is already an upgrade to my previous 8GB clip thanks to the microSD slot. 8GB just isn't enough.
