BTW, did you have to take a pill (per absent driver) to calm your temper?

No not yet, I'm still in the " what on earth is going on" mode...  You don't get it... I have paid twice for the customs ( $340 - 15% Tax ) so far... it's out of question to send the unit back. So far I've invested almost $2000 ( $1419 + $50 audiologist charge + $40 shipping of earmolds + $172 tax when I got the IEM + $55 shipping back + $172 tax again ) on my phones.

Sending it back is gonna take another $225 - $250...  paying was not an issue but I'm not printing money you know.

I hope you're just trolling me. They sent you a Jh16 with 6 drivers ? It's like if you bought a tuned Mercedes with stock engine by mistake smile.gif That has never happened to anyone I know.

This simply should be a red line in today's ultra challenging market.

Anyway, thanks everyone for supporting me, my journey with JHA ends here.

But that doesn't make it a 13. It is likely a 16 with 3db less bass. The 2 are not otherwise identical. There is no other way to lower the bass Than to disconnect/remove the drivers. Woofers are always run at full amplitude and the other drivers are adjusted to match. This is likely them doing a custom job because you chose the wrong IEM in the 1st place. The 13 was always going to be your better option but I suspect you now have a 16 with 13 or slightly more than 13 bass. I have 13s and couldn't imagine wanting more bottom and I suspect you are like me. Others demand that much bass and more.

Call them and ask what they did. I'm sure they will be forthcoming. They only did what you asked for and are trying to help you salvage your investment. It's a significant rework. They aren't making any money by accommodating you or stealing your drivers.

That's the whole idea. You disconnect, you don't remove. It is my right to keep the option of adding another dual woofer when I remold it in the future.

Wow well if that is the case he's not alone on questionable customer service from these vendors. I'm in a situation myself and am patiently waiting, hoping to have an acceptable IEM to own and cherish...

IA64 I don't think that should be the biggest issue here if indeed it is what they did. The issue is they didn't consult you on the matter to give you the choice (bad customer service). But you are right about them not leaving the extra drivers in if so. Otherwise they could have reimbursed you the difference or offered you some extra design/work on the IEM that will make up for that difference in pricing...

IA64 you are not suppose to get charged again for taxes once you have payed. You need to dispute those charges since it is the same item you are getting back from RMA. That is on you to do though.

That might would be the case if I were in Germany but unfortunately I am on a long business trip  in a Middle eastern country, more like one of the most corrupted one.

Than ask them to post you the drivers and send them along with any remold.. They only accommodated your request. if you were interested in how and what, it is up to you to ask. Custom manufacturers aren't really concerned about resale or second party remolds. Since it was rebuild, putting superfluous drivers into the mold would seem odd thing to do. It's not like the 1st pair were defective. Just not your preference.

Technical question, can't they tune the crossover to shift the boost of bass from 50Hz down to 30Hz ?

IA64 did you contact them yet regarding this matter to confirm that they turned your 16s into 13s? Probably better to put the horse before the cart :).

No but it's obvious that I have 1 small dual + 2 other mid sized dual drivers.  I compared it with the picture on the internet and I can certainly tell the difference.

Might be a good idea to contact them on Monday. The customer care is very polite anyway.

It would take a larger coil than is feasible. They couldn't just disconnect them electrically because it's acoustically coupled the the other pair. They will then play sympathetically etc. Not exactly a passive radiator or vent but it will effect things. The needed to run a new bore or at least change the acoustic connection to the remaining pair. Depending on difficulty and cleanliness, they may removed and given you a fresh pair.
