Wow, thanks for bumping, I was trying to find something similar to this for my 700s

Sorry for bringing up this old post again. I have a question:
What if i want to have the detachable cable and a detachable mic like the "AD700 Dark Knight Mod." Do I still use the same connectors?
So would I need this one
for the detachable cable? And what kind of jack would I need for the mic? How would the two jacks be wired? And what detachable cable would I need? 4 pole male to 4 pole male? Sorry if the questions are stupid....

you will need a 4-pole plug female 3.5mm that the you will wire the mic and stereo wires into i believe. either that or a 3-pole female for just the sound and make another hole for a 2-pole connection to plug the mic into. you will need one wire total if you do it the first way, and if you do it the second way you can connect the wires inside a nylon sleeving would look very nice but you will have 2 end plugs at teh end. one for sound and the other for mic, most people do this way i think. just strip all the cable and put them together in the sleeving, it will be less weight and look much better.
Sorry for bumping this thread again, but I'm about ready to do this to my own AD700's, but I was just wondering if, when you put the plug into the headset itself, did you put the cover back on it, or did you leave it exposed within the earcup? Would you mind posting a picture if possible so we could see the inside?
Thanks

I left the cover off because it wouldn't fit. I tried making it, but it's better with it off.
