For me, the RS-1i is the version that far surpasses the vintage RS-1 and buttonless RS-1 mainly because it eliminates the huge mid-bass hump that annoyed me for so long.
Do you happen to recall whether the buttlonless RS-1's (before 'i') eliminated this 'mid-bass hump' as well, TMM?
Well, since the "i" stands for "fuel-injected", then yes, they are improved over the old versions that used carburetors.
You know it! (back in the '80s)... but now it is just a marketing gimmic bc people were dissapointed when they removed the "i". I have a feeling that the "i" will remain on the grados for quite sometime too.
