Need some advice

Greetings!

On Tuesday of next week I leave for a 3 day trip to Monster Headquarters for "training" for work. My current iPod only has 2gb of space on it (yeah, I know), and obviously doesn't have enough space to hold even enough music for the plane ride, much less the unknown length of time we are going to spend listening to music during "training". So I'm trying to decide on a good, economical alternative that I can get before Tuesday morning. I'm also interested in picking up my first portable amp. I've heard the FiiO 5 seems to be a good option, especially for the price, but I'm curious if any stores sell it or if it has to be ordered online. Is there anywhere I can pick one up, or does anyone have any suggestions of a good one for a decent price I CAN get in a store?

If it helps, I own the SE530 and UE TF10 Pro, and I have a feeling I'll be coming back with a Turbine Pro Copper and/or a Studio Beats.

Thanks gang!

Since you have such a short time go to an Apple Store and get an iPod Classic w/ 160 gB hard drive in it. The SE530 do not have to have an amp right away, it can be bought later. As an alternative you could get a Nano at a lower price/size. Good luck.

That's pretty much the conclusion I have come to about the source as well. Thanks for the input.

Given the time constraints, your only option is retail (newegg is fast, but not that fast). So, your options are limited.

Whatever you decide, I would recommend that you try to get a player that has a return policy. The reason being that you are going to make a rush decision and you may end up with buyer's remorse. As for size, you might be able to find an 8GB Clip or Fuze (no AAC support, if that's important), a ZuneHD (32GB max) or, if you need more than that there's only the iPod Classic or possibly the Zune 120. I know from experience that Best Buy did not allow for iPod returns, but did allow ZuneHD returns - I can't speak for other retailers.

As for the E5, I doubt you'll find it at a retail store (at least not the major retailers).

I would stay away from buying the beats IMO. They won't live up to what your 530s and TF10 Pros can do.
