It has become quite apparent that this head-fi has driven me mad

The night before yesterday, I got home around 2am, and realized I couldn't find my IE8's. I normally carry them with me everywhere so I was afraid I dropped them somewhere. I was so stressed out and started to panic. I tore my entire room apart, tore my car apart, searched under my car... literally everywhere. I even drove back to my office and tore my office apart looking for them. lol. So by 4:45am, I was so dead tired, i just collapsed asleep at my office.

The next morning, at 8am, I was driving home to shower and change, only to get rear ended in a car accident. The accident happened at 8:20am and my car is very smashed up, we're exchanging insurance information, and my girlfriend sends me a text message saying "Hey, You left your headphones in my purse." I was so happy. I was just about to place an order for another set of IE8's too. I think my car is totalled, but I noticed I simply did not care as long as I had my IE8's back. I think this new audio hobby of mine is changing my priorities and making me crazy...

I stay up to at least 12 on school nights because I literally can't take my IEMs out of my ears. I even go as far as holding phone calls because I'm listening to music and don't want to stop to talk on the phone.

I don't think you're crazy, I think you just really love music, same with me

At midnight, I usually think "Okay, one more song". Then the song after that is good, so I listen to it. Then I listen to the next one. Before I know it it's 1 a.m.

Haha that's exactly how it is with me around 9 pm. I have to do um... how would I put it "mental" homework such as psychology, literature, etc. before this so I can listen to music while doing the other stuff like Calculus and physics

But yea homework's done and I'm just listening to music until 12 or so because it just SOUNDS SO GOOD.

When everything is working and your hearing is tuned in, it's a magical time to listen. Sometimes that means less sleep that night or weekend. My amp/headphones/power cable/ICs were ran for three weeks (21 days) for break in. That Friday evening I came home for the week and sat down to see how things had changed from the previous weekend. I think I got maybe 6 hour sleep that weekend napping. It does sound good.

Panges, you'll fit in here. Hope the car issue gets resolved to your satisfaction but more importantly, how did your headphones sound when you got them back?

lol. I'm not worried about my car. I'm just happy to have my IE8's back. They sounded awesome when i put them back in. Like they always belonged in my ears.

That night when I was searching for them, I stopped and literally looked at my stock ipod ear buds and went ".....ughhh......" Then proceeded onto my frantic searching like a maniac.

^ They aren't really for everyone, since they're a bit dark, and they're a bit bass heavy, but for the music I listen to, they are exactly what I wanted.

Funny story. You know, the day I got in an accident last year, my Electrocompaniet DAC came in, but I was too depressed to give it a listen. It is quite apparent that head-fi has only driven my spending mad, and not I... yet.

Yea... kinda funny how our audio equipment comes in on a good or bad day for us; the arrival of my lune audio cable was a good day: Starbucks with a cute girl then home and down to Gainesville with one of my best friends to an awesome coffee shop (best coffee I have ever had) with him, my first period teacher and his wife.

Great day.
