Any SG1 fans around here?

I think it just got a bit weird at the end, with the Ori and whatnot.

The Ori storyline was kind of weak, but I think the series as a whole was still fresh and could have gone on longer. I'm sad it was canceled. I finally got around to watching Atlantis, and I definitely prefer SG-1. Stargate Universe is so completely different that it's barely even related. I'm all for dark and mysterious, but it's certainly not as fun as SG-1.

It doesn't look like that third SG-1 movie is ever going to get made now

I enjoyed it on occasion only. It never grabbed me enough to watch religiously though.

The introduction of Ben Brower & Claudia Black from Farscape (my fav!), as well as Morena Baccarin from Firefly (another fav), renewed my interest, and had me me watching a bit more regularly toward the end. However, with all of the Sci-Fi Channel schedule changes & interruptions, I lost interest & never saw the final eps.

None of the spinoffs have grabbed me either.

A Matter of Time is one of the best episodes of any science fiction show ever. It made excellent use of the key elements of the Stargate world, and delivered a perfect "What If?".

Unfortunately, I never really bought the all-too-common plot/theme device of "explore new planet, save indigenous people who happen to speak English from variable x" (which wasn't usually much of a variable). I also grew tired of all the planets looking like Vancouver.

I'm sure there were probably very good episodes and story arcs that I completely missed, but I guess I don't care enough to try to watch it all to completion. The spin-offs are bad, and I tried my hardest to give SGU a chance. Atlantis, my god, it's like Friends in Space.
