I'll answer anyway. I tried the s700 on a flight and found them lacking for that degree of noise isolation. Just this past week I picked up a pair of Audio Technica ATH ANC25 noise cancelling headphones. I had to do some earpad modification as they sounded a bit muffled but after that I am well pleased for the money. They can be had in the US for around $35.

bump... i have been looking for headphones that are comfy and have excellent sound for a good price and this seems like it..HOwever,i read that the JVC HAS600 sound better... Anybody compare the two?
