Holy Crap What the hell, JVC-HAS700 is incredible

Well, I've heard them before but I never had a pair of my very own. I bought them from ebay on the 15th and just got them today. I want to say right out of the box they sound incredibly bass heavy, a noticeable large heavy screen over the bass and the highs from drum high hats and cymbals are not very crisp and clear, the mids are recessed and distant. But good lord right out of the box they sound excellent. They are fully over the ear small and portable, incredibly light. I only paid 30 bucks for these including 3 day shipping.

They look just like the bose models, and sound incredibly similar. Those bose cost what? 200-300$? My QC10s sound near identical and and the JVC are less than an hour old not even burnt in yet. Good god, this is the best value I've ever seen. Scratch that, heard. :P

It's great to find something good and with a nicer price tag, isn't it? May I also suggest Panasonic RP-HTX7? It is another good choice for around $30. Fun, fun, fun.

I'll try to explain.  Some headphones can have problems and still sound amazing right out of the box.  It's only knit picking, but the sound produced right out of the box is stellar, even if there is a noticeable screen and some recessed mids.  Even with that, it still sounds better than 95% of all my headphones including the expensive sets.

I'll tell you a secret...shh * motions to come closer

The jvc ha-s700 are in my top 5 list for best headphones ever made.  This set is made for smooth jazz.  You would not ever believe what these are capable of.   The positioning is perfect, at least for my tastes.  I mean it, its just right.  Not too far, not too close.  A great bass experience, nice a boomy, highs and mids are fantastic, immensely clear and sparkled.  They are light and very comfortable and easily one of the sexiest headphones.

I bumped this because a few days ago my cat must have bumped them off my desk and I ran them over with my chair and the cord got stuck in the rollers and shredded.  I almost cried and immediately went on ebay and re bought them.  I just got the new set today and im still stunned by how awesome they sound right out of the box compared to other sets well above 100$

hmm are they just good for the price? i remember you were raving about the mx 580s. when i bought them they were good for the price, but i wasnt blown away. im looking to buy some cheaper cans after i get my ath m50s

I think they are one of the best "bang for your buck" sets you can get.  They lack nothing, every genre sounds fantastic for it.  They are like a mini version of the Shure 750dj.  They've got very similar sound and presence.  The shures are noticeably wider and have more kick, but the JVCs are no slouch, with a great amp they can do some real magic.  My Cmoy BB 2.02 gives it a nicer warm texture to the music that i just adore so much

The mx580s are not the best earbuds you can get, however they could very well be the most clear set for the price.  I raved about them because they are 1 step below the yuin pk1.  Does that make them the best ever?  Not at all, but they are just incredible for the price and are comparable to a set that costs $150.  The same can be said about the JVCs, they produce such a fantastic warm fun and overall great experience, comparable to sets 4-5x the price and are MUCH more comfy and easily driven.

If you get the m50 and the has700, compare them side by side and tell me what you think and if you came away with the same results as me.  I think the Shure 750dj are better in every way than the M50, but the JVCS are equally as awesome, just not as clear or large sounding, but they are on the same level in terms of presentation.  That sound is very similar, warm, colored, bassy but not over exaggerated, immensely fun and sparkled.

also:  if you are looking for fun earbuds, my top pick is the Sony MDR-e10.  Their stage is bigger than the MX580s and are much more forward, they've got an equal kick to them but are noticeably LESS clear.  I enjoyed the sonys more than the sennheisers only because their stage was a tad larger and more forward to my liking.

These are the new cheap-O kings on the block IMO: the JVC Flats. Check them out, as the SQ is on par w/the PX100/200 HP's. Plus, for $10-$20 you really cant go wrong.

^$5 on ebay. For that price, they're likely as good a deal as the ksc75 - just for indoor portable use instead of being more sport oriented.

I LOVE the JVC HA-S700. For the $30 you spend, you get incredible comfort, portability, and well-rounded and fun sound.

If I didn't need something a little beefier that does gaming better (the CAL!), I would've happily stayed with the JVC's.

In sheer versatility, they are my second fave cans ever after the CAL.

Geez, I had to buy an ebay pair, for $11 shipped. They would not bother to knock off a $17 phone, would they? I have a friend who can use these, so I figured it was worth a shot. Thanks for the tip.
