Does anyone know some open cans...

That would be good for chart music? Need to be open because I listen to classical music too. Budget of £250. I know people say they love the K70x for classical but I want something that excels at pop music too.

Thanks in advance.

DT880/600 is really good for classical/rock/pop and about the same price as the K70x.

if you are into AKGs, i'd think that you can take a closer look at the K701 little sister, the K601. I found the K601 to be a more satisfying experience than the K601 for longer sessions. My 2 cents...

Totally agree... if I weren't saving for a T1, this is the one I'd get.

Thanks for the opinions so far!

Anyone else?

Also do you think the Beresford Caiman is capable of powering those headphones?

+1. Alternatively get the DT990 for slightly more bass whilst retaining the detailed highs.

Which version of the DT990 is best? And what are the differences between it and the DT880?

If you're not a basshead the 702 can bring some balance to any pop music. you'll need a nice amp too.

HD650

More suitable for modern music than K701 and I prefer them over DT880/990 which totally lack impact.

DT990 lacks impact??!?!? The bass slams around like a loose toolbox in the back of pickup truck.
