CD/ALAC/AAC/MP3

Hello everyone! I've been lurking around here for a few months, and I thought that now would be a good time to post. My favorite format would be CD, but I've also started to collecting gold CD's from Audio Fidelity and MFSL.

In order of preference
1.Vinyl
2.CD
3.FLAC
4.MP3 V0
5.MP3 320K CBR

I voted FLAC for its playback convenience. All my CD's are ripped to FLAC with EAC gapless.

All of the above.

You should have included "all of the above" as a choice. I have a couple thousand LPs, and probably 1000 45 RPM singles. I still buy CDs, and listen to them (mostly burned to CDRs.) When I rip them for my Clip+, I generally rip to FLAC. I buy VBR MP3s from eMusic. If I come across an interesting download on a music blog, and it's free, I'll accept a 128K MP3. And then there's that pile of minidiscs sittting on a table in my bedroom. I've ripped most of them to hard disc or CD, but I still occasionally pop one into my minidisc component deck and listen.

The only thing I won't do is iTunes. Jobs has made enough money selling mediocrity. He doesn't need my money, so I don't give it to him.

Other -> Apple Lossless
For music I rip myself that is. While these days I mostly listen to 320kbps Ogg/Vorbis through Spotify.

I have mostly CDs, some MP3 from Amazons cheap daily special, I buy the CDs if I really like the MP3. I have CDs ripped to WMA variable 240-355 right now. I couldn't tell much differince at time between that and lossless. Now that I have my Grados I'll have to try that comparison again. Hope I still can't tell, reripping all those CDs will really suck.

Mostly CD, however all ripped at 320kbs AAC in iTunes.. With the odd mp3 from amazon etc..

ALAC (apple lossless)

some in ALAC or FLAC.

and then pre-audiophile day songs are in random bitrate..128 to 192 to 256 kbps.
