Are you content? - Page 4

I will never be content.

Contentment is a kind of moral laziness.

Contentment is something to work towards but never quite achieve.

For life goes forward, always demanding change and the fruits and delights we will find along the way are to be enjoyed at our own pace but never at a standstill.

This hobby of ours is no exception, I realy love the stuff I have today and the music I listen to today but I know I will want the stuff I will have in the future.

By the way, the future is here, it's just not evenly distributed yet.

For me contentment is in the journey and discovery not the destination, it keeps changing anyhow.

Futureshade.

^I'd buy a poster with that quoted on it and hang it in my room.

Finlly got a home setup finished: Acer One running Foobar2000 > Musiland Monitor 02 US > Darkvoice 332 > Sennheiser HD580 & AKG K701. it's good enough for me, now to spend time listening and enjoying the music I own. I can't hear the nuances that some people hear talk about with the likes of separation, forward mids, PRaT, veiled sound & such. I now need to spend time with my music.

I told myself not to spend this year but I have bought a RSA Protector amplifier and a balanced cable for Sennheiser HD650.

Right at this very moment, listening to Bela Fleck and the Flecktones with my ultra-fun MS2i?
Pretty damn content.

But I do have some HD25-1-ii coming soon as well as an Opus DAC partly built, and no doubt various other endeavours in the future.
But content at this precise point in time

Bought a pair of custom IEMs and a diymod, so I just need a nice amp and I'm done.

The only other thing that I'd really want right now is a nice CD player or desktop DAC, but thats it.

I have other things I'd like to spend my money on these days.

Applying the question to life, what t/sound said.
