Detatchable Cable mod

What headphones can you do the detatchable mod for? I'm interested in getting it done for my CD3000. What is the pricing like?

Can I also send in my existing senn cables to change them to use this system (not moon audio)? How much would that cost?

Thanks!

I have not tried every phone on the planet yet. I can tell you what I cant do so far. Ultrasone ED8. The driver is to close to the entry point and the connection system is in the way. I cant do the Ultrasone T1 at the moment as I'm waiting on Cups with no holes to be produced by Beyer. The connector is round and Beyer uses square holes for the grommets.
I cant do any of the Sennheisers that use the rectangular connection system like the HD580/600/650 etc. So far that is all I know of.
I dont know if I can do the CD3000 or not. I would need your phones in hand to see.
As far as whether I can use another cable with the plugs, it comes down to the gauge of the wire. If 22awg or smaller I can use it.

Can you do Denons? Also, doesn't the wire going from the detachable connection point to the drivers kind of negate any positive effect a change of cable might have?

Yes I think I can do the Denons. Have not had a chance yet to do. We use solid core silver conductors between the connector and the drivers. Stock wire is pulled. The point of the detachable system is so that you can use different cables in different scenarios. Mini plug cable for portable. 1/4" for SE amp. And a balanced cable for Balanced amp. If you have multiple headphones you can swap one set of cables for all.

Thanks for the reply. The CD3000 is single-entry, is this a problem? Can you let me know the pricing for this mod?

Not necessarily but I have to have phones in hand to see if I can do. Most likely the mod is around $75-$100 plus cable cost.
