Lol you haven't tried many pmp's by just looking at your sig. BTW, Earcups? wtf lol? Those are both headphones. I would at least think a former head-fier would know what a headphone is lol.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Sony X1060 with one caveat. The X is a warm sounding player. If neutrality is what you're looking for then look elsewhere. I did once compare the X with one of the kenwood players ( I forgot what model) and it was a good bit more neutral than the X and was a tad brighter in the treble regions. It also seemed to have had better instrument separation. The X however, was smoother, more open and natural sounding and delivered cleaner transients that resulted in a better depiction of space surrounding the various instruments and vocalists. The X is one heck of an engaging player!

What hiss? Get a bit less sensitive cans and you will never hear it again! I have AKG K450s and ATH-ESW9s and there is not even a trace of the hiss I was hearing with the Sony OEM IEMs.

I get hiss with my UM3X Dead silent with the old iPod touch 3rd gen I used to own

IEMs will always hiss on it as they are hyper-sensitive. Try something other than IEMs and you will be very pleased with the results; I am very pleased with the X+ ESW9s combo
