The outer boroughs is where the real stuff is at

As one person told me way back when, "Manhattan, that's Hollywood! - Brooklyn, that's New York" - Well, I'm a big Manhattan fan myself, but there's tons of great food to explore over the bridges.
And one other really great pizza place - I think it's called "Sal's" - is off the 2 train up in the Bronx at the Pelham Parkway station -then backtrack about a block or two under the El on White Plains Road, and it's on the right side. Sal, I think, added his son's name to the shop, but it's still around. It's the only one on that side of White Plains Road.
Being originally from New England, I have to get in a plug for "Greek Pizza" as well - smaller round pies, deadly on the arteries, but oh so delicious! That and the grinders .... you can't go wrong!
