has the cable on the pk1 been changed? i bought and returned a pair of pk1 maybe 3 months ago and remember distinctly the y-split being too long (one of the reasons i returned it). but i just recently bought a pair of pk1 from another member here (with very good feedback) who said he recently got a new pair through warranty and the y-split on these pk1's i bought from him are the same length as the pk2 and pk3. not that i'm complaining - i'm just making sure these are legitimate pk1's and that the cable has been changed.
