Greetings all,
I am a member of a brethren forum, StereoNet Australia, and finally realised it was time to join your excellent forum after constantly winding up here when I google reviews of hi-fi equipment.
I actually am not a headphone guy at this stage in my audio hobby, however my first musical memory was lying on the floor in the living room back in the early 70's wearing some big white headphones which my brother had put on my head. I was listening to clocks ticking. They got louder. And louder. And LOUDER and then - BOOM, my first introduction to Pink Floyd.
In the early days I also enjoying making mixed tapes for friends - meticulously editing out any needle drops. Although these days I always include them in recordings.
Ha!
I also was involved in public radio in Adelaide back in the late 80's, doing the Top 41 show in what was then called Triple M, but is now called Radio 3D.
I have been DJing for the past 20 years. I lived in the United States for 9 years, mostly in New York, where I did a gig at Studio 54 which was a massive hoot.
However these days I seem to mainly play at friend's birthdays and friend's weddings. And no, I don't play the Chicken Dance. Just the stuff that we all grew up with. No big room thump thump, but more the hip swinging sunday arvo vibe for me these days.
I live in Melbourne, Australia and work as a creative director in the advertising industry.
I only moved here about 4 years ago, after living in New York for 9 years.
Boy was it fun shopping for hi-fi gear there - so much choice, and so cheap.
I have 6 year old twins.
They are a major part of me being on these forums. Because, bless them, they are now old enough to know not to touch Dad's stereo. This means I can now re-immerse myself in the world of hi-fidelity and build up my system again.
I look forward to getting to know you all.
Cheers,
Bunyip
