I hope they are better made and supported then the older APL equipment. I'd take PCB's any day over what he calls P-P wiring...

Well Ive had my NWO for quite a while and never experienced any problems with it. I prefer P2P and best sound possible.

Simple question, have you ever looked inside the player?

Yes I have opened up the player a couple of times to ser what it looks like.
Its quite an impressive look when you see how much is redesigned and fit inside.
Especially impressive is the DAC tower with the 20DAC/Ch when you understand the skill that goes into this level of soldering so small parts.
Anothet funny thing I found out when I opened the player is that it has My name inside.

I have a 3910 ECC99 and I was more then appalled when I opened it up. Any builder who uses hot glue to secure parts is utterly clueless and I even had to do some soldering to fix Alex's mistakes. Bare wire from the tubes shorting to ground, how can anybody make such a mistake in a circuit this simple?

As for the SMD work, any solder monkey can do that but I far away prefer the perfection automatic wave solder machines offer.

You must be referring to the Silicon, which is there for good reason. Anyway you should try and get a listen to a NWO or one of the stand alone DACs its a different animal.

Yeah, I've taken a look inside at the NWO.  I'll try to find some pics and email them to you.  It is VERY Clean, and VERY well done to my eyes.  No Mikhail here...

Yeah, I don't know about upgrading my 3.0OGO, but I've been extended the opportunity to go visit someone who not only has the 4.0 but Alex's whole line including speakers, etc...
