Does anyone here have actual knowledge if Bill Gates is an audiophile and what kind of gear he uses? Headphones?

He doesn't listen to headphones. He considers anything analog to be outdated. He listens to the pure digital bits.

He does not need audio gear, because he hires musicians to play for him anytimes he feels like listening to something

ipod is banned in his house last time I heard. There was an article with his wife and kid tease him about it.

There was an article way back about him ever owning an iPod, his response was "of course not!". If wants to listen to classical, he probably has exclusive seats to the symphony.

I took a look at his office and he doesn't seem like an enthusiast for anything. A couple LCDs, decent desk space and that's it.

You guys keep thinking Gates listens to reproduced music when he has the actual artists perform for him live.

Perhaps Gates does not like listening to any kind of music. Sometimes I've wondered if such people exist, who knows...
