The Best Part on your excellent build, are the VITAMIN Q CAPS, GREAT CHOICE!!!

Versatility

I realize everyone's probably getting tired of the pix but I wanted to post these with the Mini-USB right angle cable connected to the GrubDAC.
This was the perfect cable allowing both clearance and direction to the connection.
I now have the RCA, Bantam or Grub available onboard the MOSFET MAX with the flick of a switch and a couple of mouse clicks.

In case your wondering about the MAX's power using the GrubDAC drives my AKG-702's effortlessly with the Bantam about two steps behind in the volume dept.
Using the RCA jacks for a direct connection from my Sansa Fuse yields the same volume level as the Bantam and now that I checked it for this post I had forgotten how fantastic the MAX sounds on its own. What a fabulous amplifier ... simply amazing!

Not at all! It's a nice build and the pictures are excellent!

OK, I'll bite - what are the five jacks for on the back panel?  Test points?  I'm building one of these and I'm curious - tnx

Those for biasing.

Yep, as Lil' Knight says - the one in the middle is Ground, and I'm assuming (not my build) that the first two on the right and left are for the tube bias.  Those and the Ground are really the only two that are necessary once the amp is closed up.  However, if you like to fiddle and play with the DB bias, then the outer two do that.*  In addition, the one down and right should be for the V+ power supply adjustment.

The tip jacks provide convenient plug-in for multimeter probes.

* In the case of the DB bias, you have one probe in the tube bias jack and one probe in the DB bias jack.  Unlike for tube bias and V+ adjustment, the Ground jack is not used for DB bias.:)

OK that makes sense - thanks

Are those bars for guarding the tubes or for heat treating ???

Are they in the BOM??

Did you bother reading the Max site and the BOM there?

Both

No - they're drawer pulls available at Home Depot and similar.

Yep as Tom said they serve as heat sinks and guards ... those are from LOWES and IMO compliment the case nicely.

Here's mine that I displayed with an AKG K701 at the recent Atlanta meet:

Several people said that they'd never heard a K701 with that much bass and punch.   Note the switch controlling the source input on the left side of the front plate - I wired the LEDs from the onboard Bantam to switch between red when the USB was connected, to green when the Bantam was switched on as the source. A grubCableDAC was connected to the RCA inputs.
