Head-Fi and HDtracks (Chesky)

I know that this thread is over on the Headphone section and I am not about to bring it on over here (although it arguably belongs over here) however the CD (which is great IMO) has identified something for me that I would not have normally even considered previously.

I am talking about track 05 - Gadamaylin - I-Ching.

Now, I have been to some great Chinese restaraunts in my time, and had some very fine food, however I can honestly say I have never said-"How great was the music in that place?" However I liked Gadamaylin so much that I purchased I Ching-Of the Marsh and Moon and it is absolutely superb.

I wouldn't normally recommend music that reminds me of the average music in a Chinese dinning experience (no offense intended to those that do normally like it) but this is something else. To any restaraunt keepers out there selling Chinese cusine, get a copy of this CD and the punters will have the total experience, provided your food, decor, service, prices etc are up to scratch.

I haven't heard either of the above, but you might like "Blessing" by Joy Yu Hoffman. Chinese folk music and originals (I think) set to Chinese harp. Beautiful.

I totally loved that track too and intend to buy the album. Let me know how the whole album sounds.
