FS: [SYD, AU] Talisman T-35HP Headphone and Pre- Amplifier (SOLD)

I bought the Talisman T-35HP from Headphonic (Perth) in November 2007.
It has been used less than ~100hr since the original purchase (straight after buying it I got into building DIY amps).
I think this was their last unit before supply dried up a bit more than a year ago.
This amp is (from what I can tell) very popular in the AU community and a lot of people missed out on owning one.
For memory the T-35HP used to retail for AUD$1099 at Headphonic.

In terms of the condition of the unit, there is the tiniest mark on the right hand side of the case which I originally mistook for dust (read: very small).
The front and back panels (and the rest of the case) are identical to the day I received the unit.

I have replaced the original volume pot with an identical unit that tracks better at lower volumes.
While doing this I also replaced the screw that holds the knob to the shaft.

Features of the Talisman T-35HP are:

- Class A
- Discrete amplifier circuit
- Dual mono power supply
- Two switchable inputs
- Switchable gain (6, 12, and 18dB)
- Preamplifier out (only on the T35HP, not the lower models)

This is an exemplary headphone amplifier!

I am looking for SOLD.
If you are in Sydney then I can come meet you or we can arrange something else.

Very interesting......

Do you have any pics? Serial number?

Have you used it as a pre amp, or used the monitor out connections? I am trying to work out, which wasn't clear from the online manual, whether or not the monitor out is effectively just a loop through.

Finally, what are the exact details of the potentiometer you replaced the orginal with? If it is the same, how does it track better at low volumes?

Apologies for all the questions, but this is an amp I have been looking for at the right price for a while

Thanks

The serial number is #420.

I have never used it as a preamp but I believe the main guy at Headphonics has/does and thinks highly of it.
I think the monitor out is a loop out. Once again I have never used it.

The pot I replaced is the exact same make and model as the original: Alps rk27 50k.
They are nicknamed "blue velvet".

Like all pots the original one had a slight tracking imbalance at the start of its travel.
The one I replaced it with reduced this greatly.

I'll put up pics later tonight when I get home.

Isn't the ungettable amp that Marcus laments on not getting a T-3H? My understanding is that Talisman make the T-31, T-35, and the T-3.

The T3 is the T35 but with out the preamp out and switchable gain.

T31 is the lesser amp circuit wise of the three.

As usually happens with these things, I am going away tomorrow until after easter. Will see if this is still around when I get back, as it is very tempting....

Cheers

Sorry for the double post but here are the pictures.
Disclaimer: I could only find my old camera so the pics are a bit average.

The only way to get the mark to show up on this camera was to point the flash right at it; as you can see it is very small.
