^ don't, you're pushing it.

OK. So this how it works. I patiently explain that we can't talk about certain things on this forum, unless we get taken over by "High Times" which most people in this discussion are probably too young to even remember the publication when it was in it's prime, and then certain members start acting like my son, when he was 5 years old, pushing the limits until the thread gets closed.

Why, what purpose does it serve? Is it fun?

Oh, that's right. This is an audio forum, but let's get pissed when we can't talk about illegal substances.

This does not apply to those who posted in this thread, on the side of maturity.

Aaagh Yes, the 12 oz room tunes. I sometimes (gave it up for lent)do this with my main system. The beer seems to slightly close down my ears so I can enjoy the non audiophile recordings a bit more. Your choice of Belgium is a fine one indeed. I can't wait for a nice cold Ithaca Pale Ale or Dogfish. Anyway, congrats and enjoy the music.

While we're talking about altered states of consciousness and music...

I like to put a bucket on my head and spin around and around until I almost throw up and then slap on my HF2's and listen to the Flash Gordon soundtrack by Queen. Talk about hurtling your body out into the void!

bum bum bum Bum BUm BUM BUM BUM FLASH!

I like to donate three pints of blood in the morning then eat a 40 oz. bag of Snicker's mini bars, wash it down with a two liter of Nehi grape soda and just before I slip into a sugar coma I slap on my HF2's and listen to Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Leppard. Talk about trippin' out Willie Wonka style!

Step inside, walk this way, You and me babe, Hey, hey!

Cheers for sonic nirvana 'lordsegan' style!

Wait a sec.... Nehi grape soda is still around? I thought that all dissapeared when Radar O'Reilly left Korea...

Gotta find a Nedick's frankfurter joint. It's a match made in heaven.

Drink to this:: An estimated 480,000 children are mistreated each year by a caretaker with alcohol problems. And yes that statistic is the US 2002.

Makes you proud to be a drinker.:: In 2002, more than 70,000 students between the ages of 18 and 24 were victims of alcohol-related sexual assault in the U.S.

so is it still going to be taboo to talk about "illegal" substances and music when the illegal substance in question keeps becoming legal for medicinal purposes and is decriminalized in like a few states?

@Ford2. Do you actually want this thread closed? Why do you insist on pushing? Let it go, man. The fact is, that one substance is legal and able to be talked about, and one is not (except in a few states, as so eloquently provided to us by roker).

Again we go back to the 5 year old who tests his/her boundaries to see how far they can go B4 being reprimanded.
The thread started out by saying that the OP enjoyed their music a little more with a little help from his friends. I am not a consistent drinker, have maybe 4 or 5 glasses of wine or beer a month.
Smoking pot is illegal, and so is nepotism, and we don't discuss it here, on Head-Fi. I grew up in the 60's and 70's so take that for what it's worth. I am now a mature man with kids of his own.
If you want to bring up subjects that will close the thread and defy a Moderator (a bannable offense), feel free and enjoy your vacation.

Once again, I will state that discussions regarding politics, religion, illegal substances, and shilling, always end up in a "no win" thread closure and also bans. Is that what you really want.
If it's really important to you, start a separate thread, see how long it goes before being shut down and get your ya-yas out. It serves no purpose, here.

This is an audio site, not Alcoholics anonymous, and the OP related his musical listening experience to enhancing it with a currently legal beverage.
The discussion should be whether or not it helps you enjoy music more, or dulls your experience, not how many people have died or have been sexually assaulted because of alcohol. Maybe we should get into a discussion on how many people died while listening to music on anti-depressants.
Let it go, or unpleasant things will happen.

Something is legal or it isn't, whether we agree on it or not. It has nothing to do with listening to audio.

Last time I'm going to bring this up.
